Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship (Level 3) with SEND

September 26, 2024/in Apprenticeships, Pastoral, Support Staff June 2025, July 2025 Best Practice Network BOOK TO EXPRESS YOUR INTEREST /by Laura Lusardi

Alban Education are working in partnership with Best Practice Network to provide Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Level 3 with SEND. With increasing financial and staffing pressures on schools, plus the greater demand on SEND support, this programme provides relevant training for TAs, fully funded by the apprenticeship levy.

Benefits

TA Level 3 with SEND specialism offers a flexible approach to learning for both schools and learners, with a strong emphasis on the SEND pathway. All learners acquire the fundamental knowledge and skills needed to support teachers in enhancing pupil learning, both in groups and individually.

Specialising in SEND, learners will develop an in-depth understanding of various areas of need, such as Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), Dyslexia, and Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This specialised knowledge will enable them to play a more effective role in supporting students with SEND.

Funding

Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Level 3 with SEND is funded through your school’s apprenticeship levy, alleviating pressure on CPD budgets.

Best Practice Network can support your school to access your levy funding for this apprenticeship if you have not accessed it before.

Applications

Staff can apply via the following link: TA level 3 with SEND specialism application. Please ensure they select Alban TSH from the dropdown list within the application so they can be easily identified and added to our local delivery group:
