Matrix Maths Hub Hertfordshire & Harlow
The Maths Hubs programme is Department for Education funded and led by the NCETM (National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics). We bring together mathematics education professionals in a collaborative national network of 40 Hubs each locally led by an outstanding school or college, to develop and spread excellent practice, for the benefit of all pupils and students.
The Matrix Maths Hub Herts supports schools and colleges to achieve excellence in mathematics education from Early Years to post-16. We are based in Bishop’s Stortford at The Hertfordshire and Essex High School serving education establishments across the whole of Hertfordshire and Harlow.
Our strategic partners include representatives from a range of primary and secondary schools, FE Colleges and Universities.

Saffron Walden Computing Hub
Computing Hub – London, Herts & Essex
The National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE) is funded by the Department for Education and marks a significant investment in improving the provision of computing education in England. Run by a consortium made up of STEM Learning, the Raspberry Pi Foundation and BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, our vision is to achieve a world-leading computing education for every child in England.
We provide high-quality support for the teaching of computing in schools and colleges, from Key Stage 1 through to A-level. Our extensive range of training, resources and support covers elements of the curriculum at every Key Stage, catering for all levels of subject knowledge and experience.
There are two Computing Hubs in the Saffron Teaching School Hub area:
The London, Herts & Essex Computing Hub covers Epping Forest, Harlow and Uttlesford.
Schools in Braintree and Chelmsford are covered by the London & Essex Computing Hub..

South Central Science Learning Partnership
The Hertfordshire and Essex Science Learning Partnership
The SLP is part of the DFE funded National STEM Learning network providing support for teachers of science across all phases and at all stages of their careers. As the DFEs chosen science CPD providers our exceptional professional development has a proven impact on participants, their school or college and, ultimately, young people.
In addition to our CPD programme, we offer bespoke Science CPD for departmental meetings, joint inset and inset days. Our expert school to school support offer includes departmental reviews, coaching, mentoring, curriculum reviews and exam analysis. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org

STEM Learning and the SLP are committed to utilising local expertise and talent and help schools retain their best staff. By training as a STEM Learning facilitator you will develop your skills beyond those in the classroom and facilitate courses to help develop other Science educators. We also support primary and secondary teachers who would like to enrol to gain accreditation on either the STEM Learning Early Career or Leadership professional development pathways.
