Different routes into teaching, including tuition fee paying, postgraduate teacher apprenticeship (PGTA) and salaried training
Initial Teacher Training at Alban TSH, formerly The Alban Federation, has been training teachers since 2004. We work closely with a partnership of schools across Hertfordshire and have an established reputation for outstanding training provision and retaining trainees within our schools. We provide high quality training for partner schools and mentors to ensure the best possible school placement experience for all our trainees.
We provide Initial Teacher Training in a wide range of secondary subjects, Primary ages 3-7 and Primary 5-11. We offer salaried and tuition fee placements in local schools and also the postgraduate teacher apprenticeship.
Training is offered through full-time and part time pathways. Our part-time routes take place over an extended training period and trainees can opt to train for three or four days a week
From September 2024 we are delivering all our training courses in partnership with the National Institute of Teaching (NIoT). This partnership enables us to combine our local knowledge, expertise and success with the wealth of opportunities from a national evidence-based organisation.
