Appropriate Body Services – Registration of ECTs
Schools are required to register their ECT with an Appropriate Body, with the ECF Lead Provider and with the DfE digital service. All 3 registrations must be completed in full.
STEP ONE: Appropriate Body Registration
All schools are required to register with an Appropriate Body in order for statutory induction to be recognised with the Teaching Regulation Agency (TRA). From September 2023 local authorities will no longer be listed as appropriate bodies.
Registration Deadline Dates
In most circumstances Alban TSH Appropriate Body will commence induction for an ECT from the beginning of an academic term. Schools are advised to contact us directly for guidance regarding mid-term starters. Schools must register by the following dates to ensure induction can commence promptly:
For September 2023 start: 13th September 2023
For January 2024 start: 11th January 2024
For April 2024 start: 23rd April 2024

Finally, you will need to register your ECT and their nominated Mentor on the DfE digital service, which can be accessed by clicking here.
