Network | Secondary Literacy Leads 2023-24
Alban Education are delighted to launch our Literacy Leads Networks for 2023-24 for Secondary Phase which will promote most recent research, resources and approaches for Literacy within the current Ofsted framework.
Face to face sessions will be held termly at Sandringham School as follows:
- Tuesday, 5th December 2023 – 09:30-12:30
- Thursday, 21st March 2024 – 14:00-17:00 | Focus: writing across the secondary curriculum
Delegates can join the remaining session at £40 for the session.
- Wednesday, 3rd July 2024 – 09:30-12:30
Focus: oracy across the secondary curriculum.
Who is this course for?
Secondary Phase: suitable for any school leaders, including school librarians, with responsibility for literacy across the curriculum.
What are the objectives or outcomes?
- To offer practical ways in which schools can successfully adapt their current provision of literacy, to maximise impact
- To examine the key literacy demands within the current Ofsted framework
- To share the most recent research and resources to support literacy provision in schools
- To provide a networking opportunity for schools to collaborate and share best practice
Meet the facilitator
Natalie Reece
Natalie has over 25 years’ experience of teaching English in secondary schools and has had wide-ranging experience of school leadership roles such as English Subject Lead, Director of Teaching, Literacy Lead and Assistant Headteacher.
Natalie has a strong reputation for devising and delivering directly relevant professional development training to a wide range of both primary and secondary schools, across the UK. She believes that outstanding leaders must also be learners, and she is passionate about keeping abreast of emerging research and educational developments.
Natalie was described as “dedicated to ensuring the highest possible standards” in an Ofsted inspection report and she is highly experienced in working alongside Literacy Leads and English subject teams in schools across the UK, evaluating their current provision and offering both the necessary challenge and support.
Natalie maintains that ‘no two schools are the same’ and her professional approach has always been highly regarded by schools. When supporting schools, her breadth of experience in conjunction with the practical strategies she offers teachers and leaders, not only accelerates student outcomes but also ambition.
Natalie is also a committee member for the National Association of Advisers in English (NAAE).
