Evidence Informed – Literacy | Disciplinary Literacy across the secondary curriculum 2023-24
Evidence Informed Teaching & Learning
Our evidence informed provision is based on the work of the Sandringham Research School. This team led the way in the use of evidence-based practice in Hertfordshire from 2017 – 2023. Utilising the work of the EEF, their training uses the teaching and learning toolkit, guidance reports and promising projects to suggest best bets for practise in schools. Our facilitators have previously worked as part of this team and have used their extensive expertise to create a range of evidence informed training courses.
Disciplinary Literacy across the secondary curriculum
Please note the date change from March to Thursday, 27th June at the slightly later time of 1.30-4.30pm
A three hour training course to explore the evidence on how to embed effective literacy practice in secondary subjects.
Language and literacy provide us with the building blocks not just for academic success, but for fulfilling careers and rewarding lives. Consequently, the EEF has focused considerable effort in this area to distil the research about how to support literacy most effectively in secondary schools. This training will use the EEF Improving Secondary Literacy Guidance Report to suggest how heads of department can improve disciplinary literacy within their subject area.
