In order to help navigate the change in processes for registering Early Career Teacher(s) (ECT) joining your school from September 2021, we thought it would be helpful to clarify the 4 steps you will need to take:
Decide which of the three approaches you will take as a school for the Early Career Framework.
This is a statutory requirement for all maintained schools and schools who wish their Early Career Teachers to gain full induction:
|Full Induction Programme (provider-led programme) complete steps 2, 3 & 4 below
|Core Induction Programme (deliver your own training using DfE accredited materials) – complete steps 2 & 4 below
|School Based Induction Programme (design and deliver your own ECF based induction programme) – complete step 4 below
Nominate an induction tutor to manage statutory inductions at your school via the
The induction tutor will then be able to use the portal for uploading details on mentors, ECTs and the chosen ECF training programme route. This information must be uploaded by the induction tutor before the start date of induction for each ECT.
Schools can register here for the Full Induction Programme through the ECF
You need to select Alban Teaching School Hub as the Delivery Partner. The Education Development Trust will liaise with Alban TSH to inform us of your registration so that we can then proceed in delivering the training for your ECTs.
Register your ECT with an Appropriate Body by the start of next academic year
The Appropriate Body designated for our region is the Alban Teaching School Hub. To register with us click here. Schools with ECTs that were previously Alban Federation ITTs will be required to approach an alternative Appropriate Body.
