Training courses from Ambitious about Autism are designed to empower parents, professionals and organisations with greater autism understanding and confidence. They have extensive expertise and experience delivering training courses on a range of topics related to autism and autistic people.

Autistic young people are at the centre of everything they do, and their training content is informed by and co-created with them.

The session Understanding autism for educators will be delivered LIVE ONLINE on:

Monday 21st September 2026 from 3:00-5:00pm.

Training objectives

  • Understand the four areas of difference that most autistic children and young people experience and how these may impact them in an education setting.
  • Explore co-occurring conditions and profiles within autism and how these may impact autistic learners.
  • Understand autistic anxiety, how this can be a barrier to accessing learning, and strategies to support learners with anxiety.
  • Explore reasonable adjustments that can be made in education settings to support autistic learners to thrive.

Alison Elliot, is experienced in delivering this training, and is originally from an education background via the Teach First programme before she moved into the charity sector.
